1 month Starter Loc Retwist

1 month into my loc journey!

I'm excited because years ago two strand twist (starter locs) would last 3 days max.

In my city there are Locticians, however I felt confident with doing my retwist.

It's not often that I allow anyone in my hair, so I pretty much knew that I would do my retwist lol.

 Olive oil
This has been my favorite oil lately.

I'm still undecided with what products I want to use for my retwist

What I used on my retwist:

As of now I am loving the products  I used for my retwist. I've heard that Murray's Gel Loc-Lock isn't the best product to use, but as of now it's working. Plus I use a very small amount of product. Check out my results in the video below:

Week 1 Starter Locs

Week 1

What could you possibly say after only having Starter Locs in for one weekπŸ˜…

As stated in the video below:

This could've easily been a twist out!

However, I'm still on this journey. When I was a loose hair natural I would wear two strand twist  for a few days, because I was obsessed with a twist out.  Rocking my Starter Locs has truly been a relief!

I didn't have to overthink about styling and I just left my hair alone.

As long as I have my hoop earrings and a bold lip I'm good lol.

Loc Journey

I started my loc journey on October 4, 2017

I've always wanted locs.  For years I've stated that I would wait until I turned 40. I'm a few years shy of that age so why not get started now! πŸ˜‚ I will set another 40 yr old goal.

If you are subscribed to my YouTube channel then you know that I love my loose natural hair. I've tried so many styles! Feel to watch my videos!

Both loose hair and locs require maintenance, but for me loose hair requires more.

Don't quote me! I just started this journey!

So far, I have been enjoying spritzing my hair with water and only applying extra virgin olive oil.

I've heard spritzing with water is both good and bad. πŸ€” I guess I will find out lol.

My loose natural hair makes me want to try and keep up with the latest style and to be honest I'm getting older and I'm not here for it πŸ˜‚ There you have it!

I'm on a new journey

NATURAL HAIR: BAD HAIR DAYS

If I had the patience I would grow my hair out, but I don't lol. Months ago,  I mentioned  to YouTuber "Ghana Goddess" that I had this wig and I finally made a video! You can find this wig under $20!  It's worth it!

  Serious  PoseπŸ™ƒ

This is my go-to style when I'm having a bad hair day! It takes about 10 minutes to complete the look. I definitely have bad hair days. This half-wig ends that struggle lol.  Half wigs have been my favorite for years. I wore them at the beginning of my natural hair journey and I still love them!

FLEXI RODS ON NATURAL HAIR

Two weeks after straightening my hair with the Simply Straight Straightening brush, I decided I wanted to try a rod set. I set up my equipment and begin to film.  I didn't want to wash my hair and miss out on this opportunity.
Product talk

I only used  one product to achieve this result.
I used the Smooth'N Shine Polishing Revivoil Foaming Wrap Lotion with Olive & Tea Tree Oils. The product states (4) Firm Hold. You can use this product on damp or dry hair. I purchased this product at my local Walmart for $3.

After I finished installing the rods, I sprayed my hair with the Silk & Shine Leave-In Detangler Conditioner. It leaves my hair feeling absolutely great.

I ordered (2) packs of rods  (2) leave-in conditioners (2) shampoos and (2) conditioners  on the The Mane Choice website when they were having a sale for $3.00 each. Be sure to follow this company on Instagram for updates and giveaways!

I was so happy with my results.

I tried really hard not to disturb my curls.

Personally, I can only stretch this style for 2-3 days.  Then on to the next lol.

Half Up Half Down

Check out the video below for different styles.

I will definetly revisit this style the next time I straighten my hair.  Have you tried  any of these products before?

CROCHET IS JUST TOO EASY!

Once I figured out how easy it was to  install crochet braids it's been my go-to! It's my favorite protective style. I don't care if it ever stops trending lol. I'm currently looking for hair to install  asap. Any ideas?

Did you check out the video?

I have nothing bad to say about this brand.

The color I used was 1B/30.
I installed 5 packs of hair.

My Hair Growth Journey as of Feb 6, 2011

<------------see that pic, that's my best relaxer I think I ever had, but my hair would never really grow past this point. Looking back I didn't realize that my bang grew past my *eye* because in highschool this NEVER happened. This pic was taken 3 Years Ago

I wish I could say I have genetics on my side but hmmm...My mothers mom had hair wayyyyyyyyy down her back and my father's mom has hair down hers. Why does it feel like I skip that trait? or maybe I wasn't taking care of my hair? I never got trims that I know of and my hair would just stop at this length.

However alot of people liked my relaxed my hair it was on the thicker side and had a "FLOW in the wind " lol more like "OVERPROCESSED" Hair lol but it always took a "SUPER" perm to relax :)

since I've straighten my hair , this is the longest my hair has ever been . My husband helped me take the photo and I'll be uploading soon, My hair has grown to a length it has never reached ,so I know I'm off to a good START!!!
